Numbers and phone lines
Record your site address for emergency calls
Keep the address of your site on record, and understand what happens when someone dials an emergency number.
Steps
Know the limit first
Do not rely on Ringura for emergency calls unless your provider has confirmed they are routed. Unless your phone system has been set to route emergency calls, an emergency number plays a spoken notice and the call does not connect. Keep another way to reach the emergency services at each site.
Open the card
Choose Agents and extensions in the menu and go down to Site address for emergency calls. The card shows what is on record, or No address is recorded.
Enter the address
Fill in Address line 1, City, Postcode and Country (two letters, such as DE). Address line 2 (optional) and Region (optional) are there if you need them. Use the address where your people work.
Save and apply
Choose Save the address, then under Apply to phone system choose Check what will change and Apply now, so that the phone system carries the new address.
Keep it up to date
Change the address the day your people move. Each change must be applied again.
Good to know
- Recording this address does not register it with the carrier. Registering is a separate step for each carrier, carried out with your provider.
- A phone system set to route emergency calls must have an address on record.
- One address is held per account. If your people work at several sites, ask your provider before relying on it.
