Steps

  1. Know what it does

Payment links sends a customer a link to pay you for an amount and a reference, in the conversation they are in: WhatsApp, SMS, web chat, e-mail or another messaging channel. The page says: Send customers a link to pay you, in any conversation, through your own payment provider account. Payments go to your account, not to your wallet here. The customer pays on Stripe's hosted page; Ringura never receives the card, the payer's name or address, and takes no fee from the payment.

  2. Bring your own Stripe account

You need your own Stripe account. From the Stripe dashboard copy a secret key (sk_) or a restricted key (rk_). A test key (sk_test_) connects in test mode, so you can try links without real money; a live key takes real payments. Stripe is the only provider today.

  3. Connect the account

Administrators open Payment links and, under Connect Stripe, fill in Name, Secret key, Currency (three letters, such as EUR), Link open for (hours) (1 to 24) and, if you want, Return page after paying (an https address; without one the customer sees a standard paid page). Leave Webhook signing secret empty for now and choose Save.

  4. Add the webhook in Stripe

Under Payment provider account the page now shows your account as Test or Live, its Webhook address and the warning No webhook secret: statuses will not arrive. In Stripe, add a webhook endpoint with that address and the events checkout.session.completed, checkout.session.async_payment_succeeded, checkout.session.async_payment_failed, checkout.session.expired and charge.refunded. Copy the endpoint's signing secret (whsec_).

  5. Save the signing secret

Back on Payment links, under Change the account, paste it into Webhook signing secret and choose Save. The warning goes away. Keys and secrets are stored in the vault and never shown again; leave a field empty to keep the current one.

  6. Choose receipts and the AI agent's limit

Tick Send the customer a receipt when they have paid to post a receipt on the thread once the payment arrives. Receipt text is optional; the help under it shows how to put in the amount and the reference. AI agent limit per link (empty: the AI agent may not send links) sets the most the AI agent may ask for in one link. Status Active lets links be sent; Disabled stops new links.

  7. Send a link from a conversation

In an open conversation, expand Payment link. Enter the Amount (such as 25.00), the Currency, a Reference and a Description (optional), then choose Send link. The link goes out on the conversation's latest messaging thread, and an internal note records it. If no account is connected the panel says: No payment provider account is connected yet.

  8. Follow the status

Stripe reports each payment and the status changes by itself: Creating, Sent, Paid, Failed, Expired, Cancelled or Refunded (refunded in full). It shows in the conversation's panel, on the contact's Payment links and on the Payment links page, where Show filters by status. Cancel link withdraws a link that is still Sent.

  9. Send links from a chat flow

In Flows, add a Payment link step to a chat flow: Sends a payment link for an amount and a reference through your own payment provider, then continues. Give Amount (minor units) (1000 is 10.00) or Amount from variable, the Currency (empty: the account's), a Reference, an optional Description and the Variable that holds the link's id. The step has a next exit and a failed exit.

  10. Let the AI agent send links

Once you set the AI agent limit, the AI agent can send a payment link in the account's currency, up to that amount. The customer confirms before the link is sent, and the link always goes into the conversation the AI agent is answering. See Set up the AI agent and voice bots.

Good to know

  • A link needs a messaging thread. A call on its own has none: the conversation also needs an SMS or WhatsApp thread. A link on a closed conversation is refused.
  • A link is sent like any other message, so the same checks apply: the WhatsApp 24-hour window, the customer's opt-in and your spending limits. When the message is refused, the panel shows Not sent with the reason, the link is marked Failed and its Stripe page is closed.
  • Payment links are included in every package. The messages that carry them are charged at your rate card like any other message.
  • Payment links is switched on or off for the whole account on Feature access. Off, the page and panel are hidden, and flows and the AI agent cannot send links either.
  • Administrators connect the account. Administrators, supervisors and agents send and view links; an agent sends on their own conversations and on unassigned ones.
  • Stripe's payment page stays open between 30 minutes and 24 hours. A link still Sent after its page closed shows Expired. A payment that arrives after a link was cancelled or expired is still recorded as Paid, because the money is in your account; refund it in Stripe if needed.
  • If statuses do not change, check that the webhook in Stripe uses the Webhook address shown on the page, includes the events above, and that its signing secret is the one you saved.
  • Refunds are made in your Stripe dashboard. A full refund changes the link to Refunded.
  • When a person asks for their data, their payment links are included. When a person is erased, their payment links are kept as your business's record of a payment you asked for; the messages that carried them are erased.
