Getting started

Bring in your contacts and your team from a file

Import your customer book from a CSV with column mapping and a check before anything changes, and invite many people at once.

Steps

  1. Prepare the file

Export a CSV from your old system with a header row. Each row needs a phone number or an e-mail address. Names, language, time zone and tags are optional. Separate several tags with | or ;. A file can hold up to 20,000 rows.

  2. Open the page

Choose Import contacts in the menu. Pick the country of any numbers without a country code, then choose your CSV file under CSV file. Ringura shows the first rows and guesses which column is which.

  3. Check the mapping

Each field has a list of your columns. Set the ones the guess missed, and leave Do not import on any you do not need. The figures update as you change them.

  4. Read the check

New contacts will be created, Contacts to update already exist and will gain what is missing, and Rows refused are shown with their line and the reason. Nothing has been saved yet.

  5. Import

Choose Import. A contact you already hold keeps its name and details; only blanks are filled, missing phones and e-mails are added and tags are merged. Use Download the refused rows to fix them and import that file again. Importing twice creates no duplicates.

  6. Invite your team from a file

On the Users page, use Invite many people from a file with a CSV that has the columns email and role. Role is agent, supervisor or tenant_admin; left empty, it is agent. You see how many would be invited and which rows are refused. Choose Send the invitations when it looks right.

Good to know

  • An import records no consent. A marketing message still needs the customer's opt-in, recorded on the contact.
  • A row whose phone belongs to one contact and whose e-mail belongs to another is refused, so two people are never merged by a file. Merge them on the contact page if they are one person.
