Team and phones
Make and take calls in the browser
Open the browser phone, wait for it to register, dial, answer, hold and transfer calls.
Steps
Check you have an extension
The phone needs an agent with a phone extension. An administrator gives one in Add agents and give them extensions. Until your company has been verified (KYB), calls cannot be placed.
Open the phone
Choose the phone button in the top bar. The phone floats on every page. The Softphone page shows the same phone. When the browser asks for the microphone, allow it.
Wait for Registered
The status line must say Registered before you can dial. If it says The phone is not connected, choose Try again. If it keeps failing, tell your administrator: the phone system may be offline.
Place a call
Type the full number, with its country code, in Number to dial or use the keypad, then choose Call. Choose Hang up to end the call.
Take a call
An incoming call shows the caller's number. Choose Answer, or Decline.
Use the call controls
During a call you can choose Mute, Hold and the keypad. To pass the call on, use Transfer now, or Consult first to speak to the other person before the customer joins. Add to call makes a three-way call.
Good to know
- The phone can be moved with the arrow keys once it has focus; Home resets its position.
- Choosing the speaker works only in browsers that let a page pick the output device. The phone says so when yours does not.
- On a trial, calls reach only numbers in the country you signed up in and never premium-rate numbers. See Sign up and start your free trial.
